Delaware may be one of the smallest states in the U.S., but it certainly packs a punch when it comes to travel destinations. Here are some of the highlights of our recent trip to Delaware.

First up, we visited the historic town of New Castle, which was founded in 1651 by the Dutch. The town is full of beautifully preserved colonial-era buildings, including the Old Court House, which dates back to 1732. We also visited the New Castle Historical Society, which has an extensive collection of artifacts and exhibits related to the town’s history.

Next, we headed to Wilmington, which is Delaware’s largest city. The riverfront area is particularly noteworthy, with a number of great restaurants and bars overlooking the water. We also visited the Delaware Art Museum, which has an impressive collection of American art, including works by the Wyeth family.

Another highlight of our trip was a visit to the Brandywine Valley, which is located just outside of Wilmington. This picturesque area is home to a number of gardens and estates, including the Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library. The gardens are particularly beautiful, with over 1,000 acres of landscaped grounds and natural woodlands to explore.

Finally, we headed to the Delaware beaches, which are some of the most beautiful on the East Coast. We particularly enjoyed our time at Rehoboth Beach, which has a charming boardwalk lined with shops, restaurants, and amusement park rides. The beach itself is clean and well-maintained, and the water was perfect for swimming and sunbathing.

Overall, we had a fantastic time exploring Delaware and discovering all that this small but mighty state has to offer. Whether you’re interested in history, art, or just soaking up some sun on the beach, Delaware is definitely worth a visit.
